Hello dollie bloggers! Let's cut to the chase. This week's spotted is COBRA666.

COBRA666's eclectic style is groovie but at the same time feminine with a touch of boho. All pieces fit together really well tonally and colour wise. The way she wears rolled up jeans with ankle boots, gives this look a rockabilly vibe. Having said that, the 'rock look' is softened by her animal print cape and tassel bag. When you accessorize your outfit, it is very important to find perfect balance, so that you look just right and not like a Christmas tree. COBRA666 chose a long necklace, which flatters the length and flow of her cape and her side ponytail. Furthermore, because her fedora sits right at the back of the head, she can afford to wear dark sunnies and she cleverly chose a sleek unembellished pair. Her makeup is very 'au naturel' and her black nail polish fits this look to a tee.

Spotted is not about copying other people's look inside out. I personally do not mind, but I am very aware that some people do. The way I see it is that if there is no sharing/copying of ideas, then there is no trend. And what would fashion be without trends?

Having said that, this segment is about giving you the tools to know how to make someone else's style yours, by individualising it to your personal style but still keeping the look.

Wigs

I have to say I am surprised this hasn't been discussed here.

The Stardoll Wig trend has skyrocketed since December 15 when the Stardesign Jewelry was introduced.

Before this, Stardoll did have thoughts about wigs before the Jewelry. A while back ago Braid Plaits were added to Evil Panda and then removed. Just a month ago they were added back to compete with the ever so popular custom design and Sunny Bunny Wigs.

During the holidays, even more wigs were added.

The Stardesign Jewelry had opened a big door to uniqueness and creativity. Today there are thousands of users creating and selling beautiful and custom wigs for us to use.

Most wigs created come in black, brown, or blonde. (there are some users that create scene wigs) If you look closely you can make out some of what these users use. (like feathers). As a downfall most wigs are not available for Non-Superstars. If you are lucky, and have at least 500 starpoints, the user selling the wig in starcoins will reserve it for you. Another unfortunate thing, is that you have to put the wig on last! When you put it on it is too big to remove anything under it.

Wigs have made a huge impact in our stardoll society and I encourage you to go buy or make one! I am happy to say stardoll went from hairbows and braids to wigs we can create on our own. From wigs other people have explored making other accessories. So what's next? You decide!

Originating in Flanders, Italy around 15th century, lace is made in various different forms from painstakingly exact and ornate doilies to a simpler embroidery style. 2012 runways have embraced many kinds of lace ranging from the detailed, small, and feminine stitching to large, intrusive floral lace prints that appear to be nearly falling out of the dress.

Lace was incredibly popular in the Renaissance era. Elizabeth the I sported huge ornate lace collars that cause the handmade production of lace in Britain to sky rocket. The most common type of lace during that period was Bone Lace, or Bobbin Lace, that sprang from the making of braids. Lace was in complete style, but still ridiculously expensive.

One of the most intriguing and unique forms of wearing lace is for one to in fact adhere the lace to ones nail, which creates a very springy look. Lace has become a popular spring look for many girls because of it's innocent, light connotations.

Young Hollywood Chloe Eyelet Lace Skirt	- 125 SD

Wearing lace is a different matter all together. In present day, unlike the 1500's, lace is available to us in quantities that are larger than one inch across, making it wonderful to make full garments out of and not just accents.

Many lace garments are meant for layering over the tops of other pieces. Others however are made to be sheer and show off the exquisite pattern against the skin of the wearer. Any way that lace is worn, it is sure to make a statement.

The lace in this outfit is in the Cream Lace Capris from Voile. This could be worn with or without the modest tights underneath. The cream tone in the leggings cause the piece to be better for chicer styles and neutral tones.

Duchess Kate Middleton's famous wedding dress featured large amounts of lace. The high necked top of her dress which is available for virtual purchase contains a delicate sheer white lace pattern with a more solid chest part. This long-sleeved piece is excellent for layering when wanting just a touch of the elaborate virtual needlework to shine through.

Voile Cream Lace Ruffle Dress - 14 SD

Historically, one of the most common ways of wearing lace was in a collar, weather it be a flat, shawl like collar or structured lavish headdress. For men the lace was more likely to be seen in a neck-lining, scarf like cravat or on tops of boots, collars, stockings and more. Fashion truly has indeed changed with time.

Hello, I am CuteSueEllen, one of the five new guest writers for BigBrotherStardoll. I will be releasing two posts each week for New Writers Revealed. On Saturdays you can read my segment called 'The Raw Edge', which covers new trends as well as how to work with old classics...see it as a weekly style handbook if you like.

On Wednesdays, my segment is called 'Spotted'. Spotted is all about scouting the meanest look on the Catwalk and making it available to you. Do you have what it takes to be spotted?

Valentine has passed us with a whirlwind of pink hearts and red roses, and the next stop on our journey through time is Easter. To me Easter sets the benchmark for spring. The monarchs of fashion released their spring/summer collection late last year and 'boy' are we in for a treat. It is as if the heavens have opened, and all creative energy channeled into the eager minds of the world's design houses. There is a plethora of styles available to us in 2012, enabling free expression within the latest trends, and putting a final end to fashion communism.

To start this week, I present you no other than Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel Spring/Summer 2012 (please note for followers under 15 years this video displays three see-through tops).

Cue words for this look are: ocean world, shimmery fabrics, pearls, silver, sheer, pastels, aqua and peach, blues and pinks, black and white, natural makeup, pulled back hair, sandals and flat ankle boots.

Bellow are some examples of what to look for in your wardrobe and/or Starplaza to achieve your own Spring/Summer 2012 Chanel look. I recommend keeping the cue words in mind as you select all items that you like, whether from your own wardrobe or Starplaza, and once you have done this choose your favourite pieces and start assembling your look.

Pretty in Love Chrome Pleated Skirt - 10 SD

Pleating is the act of ironing or folding a fabric back upon itself to create a type of crease. All kinds of pleats have come discreetly into trend this year, from everything from 18th century watteau pleats to the classic knife and box pleats. Pleats take a large amount of fabric and fold the cloth to create a layered effect as well as reducing the size of the garment while keeping the original cut.

The most commonly seen and used types of pleat is called the Knife Pleat, or Accordion Pleat. Knife Pleats are simply repeated, purposeful, organized folds in fabric. A more elaborate variation of this pleat is the Box Pleat. A Box Pleat, also known as an Inverted Pleat, is two Knife Pleats that face each other to cause a layered, thick like look by showing two layers of fabric, one in front of the other. This pleating style can be seen not only in man vintage peplum shirts and dresses, but in many private school and plaid type mini skirts.

Sea Of Stars Ombre Rhinestone Skirt - 12 SD

Pleats on the other end of the spectrum can become extremely complex. The more elaborate, fanciful Honeycomb Pleat, typically seen when gathering fabric, resembles interlocking diamonds can be very easy, or very difficult to make depending on your skill level. Honeycomb Pleats can be seen in older garments and various styles of thick, light obscuring window blinds.

More recently used exclusively for reasons regarding appearance, the pleat was once also employed for not only its clean cut look, but for its ability to allow the wearer to access a large range of motion while keeping the fabric compact and together. On the fresh spring runways of 2012, pleats are not only being seen in their regular domain of skirts and dresses, but in sleeves, coats, shirts, and more.

Stardoll Blushed Tapered Trousers - 50 SC

The pleat can be worn with many styles including preppy, chic, and even punk. Usually seen sheer over another solid colored garment, pleats have just the right amount of femininity and edge to create the perfect 2012 outfit. Pleats are even seen, although not always acknowledged, in creased trousers, for example the dusty-rose hued dress pants featured on the right.

On another note, it may be a bit difficult to find pleated garments in Starplaza as, strangely, for a fashion website, Stardoll is not always up to date with the latest trends in fashion. With that, I leave you and wish you the best of luck with your spring shopping!

Barbie: StarDesign

Happy Thursday! I'm excited for this being my second post. (come back and see my posts Tuesdays and Thursdays)

As a little kid, Barbie was my fashion idol. I loved everything about her. Her fashion, lifestyle, dolls, everything. When they brought it into Stardoll, I was overjoyed. I grew out of playing 'Barbies' when I was about 12, but I admit I still own them to admire and I want to pass them down to someone else. On my twelveth birthday I found Stardoll. It was my way of 'grown up barbies'. This past month Stardoll has introduced us with barbie inspired clothes, Stardoll by Barbie, and a Barbie themed party room. All of this has been great but they haven't given us the clothes the dolls wear. My only disappointment.

Does anyone remember when Rebecca BonBon clothes where being sold? Then they had an additional way to get the clothes in stardesign by creating your own style. To my surprise, they did that with Barbie. I am not a personal expert with StarDesign but I love how we can make our own style for ONE STARCOIN. It's worth it. My advice? Take advantage of it. Of course there are limitations. There are only 4 dresses to choose from and you cannot add prints. I still think it's a steal. If I remember correctly the Rebecca BonBon stuff was more costly.

PS: Yesterday the other Stardesigns were changed to look like StarDesign Jewelry.

Hey There! I'm one of the few people that got selected as a new writer. I'll be looking at Fashion in stardoll and sometimes in the real world and sharing it with you guys! And I'm very grateful to be a part of the team. I really hope you enjoy my posts.
Today I'm going to post a few outfits inspired by lots of different styles.

This first outfit was inspired by Darby Day, an occasion celebrated in Australia, with greys whites and blacks....

It only contains 5 items [not including the necklace] and is very sleek and simple. Quiet cheep also, a good clothing set on a budget!

The second outfit was inspired by Sheep and a competition currently in Australia called Wool4Skool. I think it's very simple and gorgeous....

Another cheep outfit with a surprising 4 items but looks sophisticated and beautiful.

The third outfit was inspired by classic Australian Business style seen in Melbourne. Dark colours mixed with a dark cobalt blue makes the eyes look at the top part of your body [or doll] and the circles give an effect of an hourglass shape....

An extremely cheap outfit but very well sophisticated and would make you look 5x more better when the right colours and textures are used.

I guess that's all, If you want a style or piece of clothing you would like me to use in my next post, just post it in my Guest Book and I'll give it a go!

It's official. I will eternally love Stardoll. Why is that? They have not only recreated a a famous Shakespearean scene, but also one of my favorites. And we are able to buy it!

Yes, we can now have one of the most widely known and loved scenes from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Can you think of a better way to get ready for Valentine's Day than to let your medoll live in the world's most loved tragedies? I certainly can't (Sorry, did I take it too far? Can you tell I adore Shakespeare?)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello Stardollies! I'm Cayla (Flowerpin on Stardoll). I'm so happy to be party of the BBS Crew! I'm so excited to work with such talented writers. Today, as you may know, is Valentine's Day! So happy Valentine's there to everyone! I was inspired to make some Valentine's inspired outfits for you!

The first outfit all comes from Pretty N' Love (hence the name). You can buy it for the low price of 26 stardollars! (not including the hair from Sunny Bunny) The pastel colors mesh together nicely along with the babydoll top featuring a heart. Yellow jeans are hard to pull of but give this outfit a nice touch.

The next outfit I thought specifically for non-superstars (or even superstars on a budget) but I was inspired by this outfit in this video.

I realized her layered heart top is one actually in Wild Candy on Stardoll! So this outfit was combined with a pinch of red and black to match. You can buy this Sweet Valentine's Outfit for the quite reasonable price of 282 starcoins! (not including 2 black wigs from Sunny Bunny)

I am really sorry for not posting sooner, but I am kind of busy with life and such!

Recently I have found a new obsession; RuPaul's Drag Race!

RuPaul (Below)

is the best known Drag Queen, next to Divine (Below) and has her own TV Reality show much like 'America's Next Top Model', but for Drag Queens competing to win amazing prizes and the title 'Americas Next Drag Superstar'.

I know what you might think when you hear 'Drag Queen'.

You might think that they are supposed to look like MEN with A LOT of makeup, maybe you picture this:

But let me tell you RIGHT now, let me set the record STRAIGHT!

A GOOD drag queen is supposed to look like THIS:

A good Drag Queen knows what to do before getting their picture taken, or before they perform! Many of you don't know how much actually goes into looking as fierce as Tyra and Kenya up there!

GOOD Drag Queen checklist:

Shave EVERYTHING.

Take a shower.

Put on full face of makeup; Base, Contour, Shading, Eye shadow, Draw on Eyebrows, Eye liner, Mascara, Fake Eyelashes, Lip liner, Lip stick.

Make cleavage (With makeup and duct tape).

Do hair; Gather hair in cap, put on and secure wig, style wig.

Tuck candy away.

Pad body.

Put on accessories.

Put on clothes and shoes.

BAD Drag Queen checklist:

Put on makeup; Base, too much Eye shadow, Mascara, Fake Eyelashes, too much Lipliner, Lip stick.

Throw on ugly 5 dollar wig from Walmart.

Put on accessories.

Put on ugly glitzy costume with way to many feathers and shoes.

Can you tell the difference? GOOD! A GOOD Drag Queen should be Polished (Clean look) and Fishy (Feminine).

Let me just touch on Drag names too. Every Drag Queen has a drag name! (Except RuPaul). 90% of the Drag Queens has a Drag name that means something to them, or they just really like it!

And when in Drag 99% of them prefer to be called 'She' and 'Her' as they are a female illusion.

I went to a drag name generator just for this post so I could tell you guys what my Drag name would be!

There are SO many different types of Drag out there, but you can really tell a good Drag Queen from a bad one if you know the basic facts!

OK, so lets get on with it!

How to make your doll look like a fabulous Drag Queen!

1. Makeup & Hair!

As Stardoll's shading techniques is NON existing, I used my own design lashes!

And for hair, I made my own big hair bun, inspired by an amazing Drag Race (Season 4) contestant Lashauwn Beyond (Below)

Please have in mind that this is one of the first times I'm even using the Jewelry Design!

2. Accessories & Clothes!

I put on a huge Satin/Plastic foil/Tulle flower headdress.

Do you love it?

And I of course, the earrings! They come with the lashes, but they are white, so they'll go with anything!

Lastly, I kind of made my own dress by layering only two dresses!

I also had to layer in some other pieces of clothing to hide skin that were showing on my side and on my hip. I used these:

Hello Lovelies,

January is coming to and to follow in it's footsteps is February. The month of love. That's right, Valentine's day is fast approaching and many feel it's time to start preparing now. In stores all around me I see candies in heart shaped boxes and bears holding that dear little heart. Of course, the real world is not the only one that prepares. Stardoll loves Valentine's day as well. In it's usual celebration, a boutique is released with the theme of love. This year, we get an extra bit of a gift. That's right. A make-up shop (Dot) revolving around pinks, reds, and Valentines.

• The first picture represent [sad face with tears] the past (yesterday), and that we should learn from the mistakes we make.

So at first I was going to do a drawing but my drawing kind of sucked... Yeah. So now I did a collage using looks I made from Looklet.

The first look represents the "Past" part of the quote. I wanted to showcase vintage and old school fashion.

The second look represents the "Present" part of the quote. In this look, I wanted to draw influences out of the trends today. That includes, gundge and edgy.

And the last look, as you've probably already guessed, represents the "Future" aspect of the quote. I wanted to use some of the things I think people are going to wear in the future.

am not the best of artists, but I hope you see what I tried to show. The girl on drawing her alphabet on the chalkboard shows two things. It was in the past (we dont use chalkboards too often anymore) and she is learning. The alphabet is what you learn at the beginning of your life, once you know it, you dont forget it.

The second image is of a girl enjoying herself - living today. Sont ask about the butterflies. xD

The last image is about Hope, and its showing that you Hope to choose the right way, and you shouldn't give up on the dreams you hope to have.

All the pain I have suffered, has beeen left behind. I will never forget it, it left a scar in my heart, but today is a new day & a new dawn of my life. I had completely major changes in life for the past few months, and it made me a completely different person. The flowers are inspired by my grandmother. After all these years she is gone, I will always remember her as a strong and inspiring woman. She had a hard life and lost her fight to a brain tumour. It was many years ago, but only now I really start to realise how amazing she was. Every day I am looking forward to everything she's done.
She had done mistakes, but she is a true inspiration for me. I don't cry when I remember her, because I know she's in a joyful world of heaven where she deserves to be. One day, I'll be there too - death is not a thing I'm afraid of. Roses will always remind me of her.

Okay so the "past photos" are the girl on the bench, balloons drifting in the sky, and the crazy orange and yellow glitter, and partial person. These represent our past, that we regret and the mistakes. But from those mistakes we learn from them, that impact us in our present and future.

The "present photos" are the "Smile" notebook, Ferris wheel, and the girl blowing colourful bubbles. These represent how we should live our lives without any regret, and enjoy it while it lasts.

The "future photos" are the ones with the holding hands, white dress, pink dress strutting, and the person in a jean jacket holding a book. These represent how our future is dictated by what you do. Our hopes, and sense of adventure. Not to mention how we will gain the confidence that comes with it.

My picture is about how two little girls wanted to grow a beautiful tree.
So basically there are three sections, representing the past, present, and future.
In the past, the girls read up on growing trees. They learned how by researching and stuff.
And the present, they are actively out there, planting a tree.

Good Morning, Good Morning To You!

(Well, Currently as I am writing this it is 7:43 in the morning)

So, today I had the wonderful plans of going to an awards ceremony for my little brother and his accomplishments. Then, the ever so longed for rain that is rather uncommon in California decides to come full force and force his school to cancel. Now, as I sit here totally prepped and ready to go, I find out a I waste a whole day's make-up. So, I though "Ehh, What the heck. Let's Check Stardoll." What do I find when I come on to check this virtual world? A new collection of my favorite store!

That's right. Not only has PopShop released a new collection (without telling us, how rude!) but it also is probably my favorite one yet! Sadly, it is only one floor (disappointment).

Anyways, enough of my blabbering. What are your thoughts?

Well, first off, I hope you all have not forgotten about the weekly "Inspired" post, because, I'm back!

Yup, I know after a few weeks I have not been posting this but I have finally made it back around and boy do I have a treat for you all!

This week I was able to come across a really fantastic suite. Very modern. Very Fashion. Very Inspiring. (I know, slightly corny but I just had to XD)

Hey, Jennifer here..

BBS has been fun for me, building up my confidence in writing & improving my experience on stardoll. I've started my own projects & at the end of Jan i'm starting College (Highschool) so I wont have time to write for BBS anymore. I'm sorry but I have to leave BBS. I've only been writing here since October (I think) but I have to move on and give someone else a chance.

Honestly I was so surprised that Licha picked me to write for this blog out of all the applicants, and I didn't even have experience! I guess you could say 'I had a dream' & I finally got to do the thing I love, write. This journey for me has to end, but hopefully someone else will get the chance to replace me and have their dreams come true. I've had a blast, writing here & being apart of the team.

How many of you adore the StarDesign? The place for all of the future fashion designers on Stardoll to have fun creating fantastic new patterns and pinning them with the perfect template and thus, voila! I perfect masterpiece. Many users have used this feature to create fashion lines for us to buy and create unique, one of a kind outfits! Well, good news for all of you fashion designers out there! Merry Christmas and welcome back to yet another medoll takeover with myself, Jennifer (:

For today's segment I have put in a lot of effort so I hope you like it (:

Today's soon to be fashionably savvy medoll is..

Let's take a peek at the before outfit.

What she's wearing (:

Fudge high top sneakers.

Right away I see that the shoes and the dress do not match. So we're gonna change that.

I went to the starplaza and took advantage of all the new Holiday Tributes that have come out recently.

Outfit #1.

Gucci Woven Black Capelet - 8sd.

Gucci Black Winter Hat - 26sd.

Gucci Black Inspired Shorts - 10sd.

Decades Vintage Rose Pin - 20sc.

Decades Long Pearl Necklace - 30sc.

I love this outfit. Just a few accessories to dress it up a bit.

It does cost a bit. ;o

Now onto the makeup and all the rest (:

For this I sorta did a makeup tutorial so you can do this yourself.

Before.

Some of the problems

There's no makeup even though she does have some.

The eyelashes are all wonky.

It just basically needs a makeover. (:

First lets focus on the eyes.

I prefer these eyes better (:

Taking the liquid liner, carefully draw it on under the eye first. Make sure you leave a gap like I did.

Next do the same with the top. It takes a lot of practice so don't get discouraged if you can't get it right.

Yours should look something like this.

Next take the black eye pencil and go around the bottom of the eye on both sides and if you have enough left do the top. Stardoll made it so you cant put alot of makeup on your doll, so you have to do a bit on one side, do the same on the other and keep going like that.

Now it should look like this.

I honestly prefer the Sephora makeup shop that was back in 2008 and early 2009.

If you dont have makeup from there, just use the ones from Dot.

Use the short brush first and apply to the eye, top and bottom on both sides.

Then do the same with the long brush.

If you want use the eyebrow painter and just paint the eyebrows black.

Or change it on the features setting

Your end result (:

If you want, you can add eyeshadow but I like it just plain and simple. (:

Now lets go onto the cheeks.

You can use any blusher, but the darkish pink one works the best.

Brush it on the ends of the cheeks, not the whole cheek. Do a couple of layers.

Now for the lips.

Use the Luxe Clear Lipgloss and just go over the bottom bit that was already light.

I hope you liked this different medoll takeover. Now for a few tips.

Tip #1

Stardoll hasn't made the hairstyles fit the face of your medoll, so you get a gap like this.

Use a couple of these black tear drops, if your hair is black to block out the gap (:.

Tip #2.

Don't go overboard on accessories. A few simple ones will make your medoll look nicer than fifty million pieces of jewelry everywhere.

How many of you had been admiring the new Alpine Chalet? The wonderful mountain settings. The warm cabin look. Don't you just love how you can make your medoll look like they are enjoying themselves in some fantastic ski resort. One down fall though. How many of you don't have any clothes to match your settings? Well, Stardoll has a solution for that. In fact, it was released this morning!

So what did you think? Each room sets a perfect scene. You can see the time, detail, and effort put into each room and truly the effort paid off.

One word I would use to describe her? Two actually come to mind. Modern and realistic. Everything, the rooms, the decorations, even her outfit, just scream a perfect relaxing day at home. Truly, all of it is perfect.
